My daughter loves cars. I've told this multiple times. But one of her favorite movies is Cars. She's 2 and knows Mater and McQueen. I was watching Cars with her the other day and I noticed something for the first time. It never hit me until what feels like the 100th time watching it.
Mia and Tia (yes, I know their names) are not just showing Lightning McQueen their number 98 decals on their headlights. They're flashing him. They're show him the goods. I can't be the only one who didn't notice this right off the bat. But, as Pixar and Disney love to do), that's not the only one. While McQueen's doing his duty and meeting the rusty cars, his bosses say that they might be able to buy him headlights. To which one says:
"You mean he doesn't have headlights?"
And the other replies: "No, they're just decals!"
McQueen: "Well, race cars don't need headlights as the track is always lit."
And the first: "So is my brother, but he still needs headlights!"
I love watching movies and not noticing things until way later. Keeps it fun!

His bosses are also voiced by the former hosts of the NPR show Car Talk....and are brothers. :D

I thought this the first time I saw it. Also, his bosses are Click and Clack and that scene makes me laugh every time I see it.

I love that click and clack are the Rusteze guys. That in itself cracks me up every time. (I know for some reason a lot of people here are down on them but I enjoy Car Talk, at least until they retired).
I definitely noticed the 'flashing' the first time I saw it. My oldest daughter is 9 and we still watch Cars a lot. No, she has no idea about the 'flashing'.

Oh, by the way, just in case you didn't catch it, Click and Clack are his bosses.
They have a show on NPR.
It's called "Car Talk."
They're brothers.
In real life.
On their show "Car Talk."
And they're Lightning McQueen's bosses in the movie Cars .
Just in case you didn't catch that.

My two year old is a big fan too. Some other funny, slightly off-color jokes:
Rusteze theme song:
"Winter is a grand old time/On this, there are no ifs or buts/But remember all that salt and grime/Can rust your bolts and freeze your -..." (song cuts away)
Mater:
Oh, man, you get to work with Bessie! I'd give my left two lugnuts for somethin' like that!
Also, this gem:
Lightning: I'm serious! He's won three Piston Cups!
Mater: He did WHAT in his cup?

Also, foreshadowing.

One more:
If you notice, both Click an Clack are Dodges, and Dodge was created by two brothers.
Not sure if that's coincidence or intended...

Those were all noticed and definitely appreciated!
